More Misc Updates
I’ve let myself fall into a work/Fishtank loop. This happens when it’s live. That said though I do have to get some stuff done.
Following up on the deal for my first potential agency client. Nothing huge, really hoping it at least just leads to building some more sites. Need to get the new proposal put together and sent out.
Besides that’s I’ve been playing with configs. Part of my current personal tech pursuit is finding my sets of tools I really like. One piece I’ve wanted to spend more time with in the past but would just ADD out of is file managers. Starting out with nnn and so far I’ve just been setting up default programs for various filetypes. This got set off a little bit because I downloaded some .stls, liked the viewer I tried (f3d) and it’s exactly the kind of thing I’d probably forget I have installed. Trying to get past that stage and closer to the “I actually know all the extra packages I need beyond neovim, git and fastfetch” stage.
I do have to do some real life stuff even with Fishtank running unfortunately. And one of the big ones is I finally am compelled to get my Town Car doing daily duty for a while. It’s not saying much, but it won’t be the worst fixer upper I’ve ever driven. I got the Town Car since parts are cheap, it’s a reliable platform and it should be easy to work on. We’re going to see how that pans out. Throwing an alternator on it I got from Rock Auto for $40 soon to test it out. That and a battery should/hopefully get it taking me to and from work for a while before I need to address other important stuff.
It shouldn’t be one of my top priorities, but I want to fix up the stereo and get an aux hacked in. It sounds like I really need to replace the oem jbl subwoofer, they’re known to rot out anyway. From what I can find it should just be a low profile 6.5”. For the aux, I should be able to tap the tape output from bits I could find online. I’ll know for sure when I dig into it and I also have a factory service manual ready with schematics.
